When you create an account Taleki stores your email address and, if you choose one, a display name, profile picture and short bio. If you sign in with Google, Taleki receives the email address associated with that account.

Taleki records the chapter you last opened, roughly how far through it you were, and when you last read, so your place is restored across devices and so Continue reading works. Saved library entries, ratings, reviews, comments and votes are stored with your account.

Taleki also records lightweight signals about which books you view, read, unlock or follow. These are used to order recommendations and discovery rails.

Taleki stores your coin balance and a record of coin credits and spends. Where a purchase is made, Taleki stores the order record and the confirmation returned by the payment provider. Taleki does not store card numbers.

If you publish, Taleki stores your stories, chapters, revisions, classification choices and the earnings records associated with your work.

Taleki stores technical error reports when a page fails to load, so faults can be diagnosed. Your browser also keeps local settings such as your theme and reading preferences on your own device.

Your display name, profile picture, bio, published stories, public reviews and comments are visible to other readers. Your email address, reading progress, coin balance and purchase history are not shown to other users. Taleki staff can access records where needed to run the platform, handle moderation, or investigate a payment problem.

Taleki runs on third-party hosting and database infrastructure, and uses a payment provider when coin purchases are available. These providers process data on Taleki's behalf in order to run the service.

You can edit your profile, delete your own comments and reviews, and unpublish your own stories from within the app. To request a copy of your data or deletion of your account, contact Taleki support.

The following require confirmation by Taleki's owner and a qualified adviser before publication as a final policy: the data controller entity and contact address, legal bases and jurisdictional coverage (for example GDPR or NDPR), data-retention periods, international transfer arrangements, named sub-processors, the cookie/analytics statement, breach-notification commitments, and the minimum age for account holders.
